The overwhelming verdict from those who came to the Quarry Horror Picture Show - almost 100 people - was that it was a success and should be repeated again next year.
The rain held off, the atmosphere was brilliant. The bar was emptied and most of the food disappeared.
First estimates are that the event raised over £1,000 for MacMillan and other Rotary good causes.
Thanks must go to Chris Mill whose quarry was the event venue. It was his brainwave and he was the driving force in putting the event on. Thanks also to Pete Lea, an old friend of Chris’s from Leicestershire, who supplied the expertise and equipment to show the film and to all the Colwall Rotarians who helped out.
Chris’s summed up the event saying “I’m not the person to say anything, but I do believe most will be back next year, and more will join them. So all in all a great success”
