Activities of Colwall Rotary in and around our community

Community Activity

Colwall Rotary Club is involved in many activities in the Community over a typical year.

Our activities range from involvement in major events such as WestFest (in West Malvern) to smaller events such as events to support Colwall Primary School.

We regularly raise money for local and international charities such as Acorns, St Michaels and St Richards Hospices and Water Aid.

During the Rotary year July 2018 to June 2019 we donated over £3000, with the same again to be dispersed over the rest of the year. The principal beneficiaries were;

  • Royal National College for the Blind (RNC), Hereford
  • Parkinsons
  • Maggs Day centre
  • End Polio Now (part of Rotary Foundation)
  • Poolbrook Café
  • Colwall Primary School
  • various Cancer Charities

Colwall Rotary donation helps provide free Xmas Lunch

Poolbrook Kitchen and Coffee Shop in Malvern provided a free lunch

A donation from Colwall Rotary helped Poolbrook Kitchen and Coffee Shop in Malvern host a free Christmas lunch for the homeless and individuals struggling financial and having to use the foodbank. As well as giving them a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings the Café also provided goody bags for everyone to take away.

Purple Crocuses

We gave every child at Colwall Primary School a bag with crocus corms in it to take home and plant, and started planting corms in the school grounds with help from the children on Purple Pinkie Day.

A good start, so only 3,000 corms to go!

Peter Key and Alan & Sheena Bridge have spent the day back at the school to carry on planting.
