During the evening of Tuesday 6th December, 12 finalists from The Chase took part in a cook off to gain a place in the next round of the ‘Rotary Young Chef of the Year’ competition.
The school heat and cook off, was sponsored by The Rotary Club of Colwall.
Prior to the final, 90 Chase students had participated in school heats. Each person had to prepare, cook and serve an interesting, healthy two course meal for two people, costing under £10. The standard of entries was extremely high and the judges were most impressed
Winner – Louis Tyler – Year 10
2nd Place –Joe White – Year 10
3rd Place – Sophie Johnson Year 10
Louis will now proceed to the area round, to be held in the New Year. He will also assist the Head Chef in the preparation of his menu to be served at a Colwall Rotary Club dinner, to be held at the Malvern Hills Hotel, on 19th January 2012.
Colwall Rotary Club also sponsored and judged the Textiles competition. Students were asked to make, in 2 hours, their design for a Venetian mask. The judges were again very impressed by the enthusiasm and skill of the lower school pupils taking part.
