Colwall C of E Primary School Computer Appeal

A great big Thank You!

Due to the Covid pandemic lockdown the majority of pupils who attend Colwall Primary school have had to be taught at home. It quickly became apparent that many of them did not have access to or had to share computers to get on line. Colwall Rotary Club approached the Headmistress Helen Webb and asked if they could help.

On 19th January 2021 we launched an appeal to the local community asking for the donation of laptop computers, tablets or if preferred cash. We closed the appeal on 1st March.

The community response has been wonderful! In six weeks we have been able to support the school by the provision of 41 refurbished laptops and 13 machines very kindly loaned by The Innovation Centre at Malvern Link. The refurbishments were completed by Malvern Computers at cost.

In addition the school has received £3750 in donations of which £1150 came in after the Rotary Appeal. With this money the school has been able to buy 20 new chrome book computers, also for use by pupils at home.

Helen said, “This is amazing: Fantastic, thank you so much”

On behalf of Colwall Rotary and Helen we wish to thank everyone who went out of their way to find and donate their unused machines. The difference this has made to the learning experience of many pupils is profound. Give yourselves a great big pat on the back. (We can’t do it for obvious reasons!!)
