Earthquake
The devastating Earthquake in Syria and Turkey resulted in one of our preferred International Charities, Shelter Box, quickly sending out supplies to both Countries in order to help in the relief effort by supplying essential goods for surviving families who had lost everything.
Events like this use up the stored resources and it is important to rebuild these for both the existing disaster and others that will certainly follow.
We were fortunate that Tesco in Ledbury allowed us to collect charitable donations from their wonderful customers and we quickly raised over £430. As a club we decided to top this contribution up from our existing charity fund and this was enough to buy two boxes of urgently needed supplies.

Macmillan Renton Unit
The Halford Keenan Quiz is a regular event in our programme. In recent years we have held the quiz in the hall of Colwall Primary School and have combined a well organised quiz with a bar, and fish & chip supper.
Named after two former members who sadly lost their lives to cancer, we always donate the funds that we raise to cancer charities.
This year we decided to use the £465 raised to support the Macmillan Renton Unit at the County Hospital in Hereford. This innovative unit is a collaboration between Wye Valley NHS Trust and Macmillan Cancer Support, and was the subject of a very successful community fund raising effort when first established in 2011. It provides a comprehensive range of outpatient and treatment facilities to the population of Herefordshire.
We are pleased to have made a small difference.
Our team
We’d love to do more, and raise more funds for good causes locally and where necessary further afield.. but we are a small group. We really do need more like minded volunteers. We’d love to invite you to hear more about what we do.
